Spurs of the Moment

Well Game 5 is tonight and the Spurs can dust off the Mavericks once and for all this season with a win in Dallas. Eduardo Najera will be available as the league opted not to suspend him for his flagrant 2 foul on Ginobili. I honestly don’t think it warranted a suspension. He was ejected and that’s that. He has never really been a dirty player – physical yeah, but not dirty. I expect nothing less than more fireworks from both teams complete with some posturing from the soft Mavericks while they are in their own building. I doubt it will save them, but I did say Spurs in six games so we’ll see.

Some folks seem to think that the Mavs should go small against the Spurs. That’s an interesting idea at least, I mean it’s not like their bigs are doing anything to win them ballgames right now. That’s probably why DFW writers are throwing in the towel left and right. I don’t blame them.

Let me not get too ahead of myself though, there is still at least one game to be played and the Spurs have been known to play some bad basketball this season. I still believe they’ll win the series, but it ain’t over til it’s over.
